okay... let me just say that first of all, its very sad that he died. second of all, it is good for some of the little side stories to start wrapping up. im thinking they should go ahead and kill charlie and clair while they are at it and possibly jin and sun! im so sick of all the side stories and us losing track of the main things - we are trapped on a crazy island that does crazy things AND there are these "others" messign around with our lives. im OVER the random little rabbit chases... okay, sorry for the tangent :) ash

and quint, there is no way to be ambivalent. its like being ambivalent in your marriage. its a total commitment or a life of singleness (which is not bad either). if you don't sell out and truly commit, you miss so much of what makes it a good show. heheh!

And see that's the problem I have with it. This island is full of questions, with each "answer" comes three new questions. there are so many dangling story lines that we may never get answers to.
Like what did Jack and Kate see when the pilot was ripped from the plane and killed?
What is that making noise in the jungle at night? It sounds like what killed the pilot.
Well finally I have decidided that it was the black smoke. because when it was killing Ecko (which is another reason why I hate the show) it made the same electronicy animalish noises.
So now my question is What is this black smoke? Is it some way advanced security system the others have developed? Is it some side effect from all the test happening on the island? why did Locke think it was friendly?
See things will happen and then they aren't even mentioned anymore. The black lady that was talking/testing Walt where is she? All these others we've seen and we have't seen her. Are they ever going to connect all the dots? Let me answer that "No!"
Do the creators have all the dots connected? Do they know all the characters back stories and connections with the other islanders? Do they know what other character types they plan to add to advance this show to an outcome? Do they know who/when they are killing off characters? Or do they just roll with the punches and are "making it up as we(they) go along"?
See movies have a story line, a starting point and an ending, they leave no lose ends. TV shows will start new storys and will just leave something hanging that they planned on cooming back to but upon writing this character off the show that story line dies with them.
